Tech - Formative A

The last few weeks in Tech we have been learning about Computers ands Data. We learned about the different types of Data and how to calculate data. With the data we tried to figure out how our close friends use screen time. We used a google form to work out this data. We created a survey and got our friends to fill it in. After we got this data it automatically changed into a google sheet. We then used this data to find averages, maximums, minimums e t c. After this, us students downloaded Office 365 and used an app like Google Sheets. We then made transferred the data from sheets to the app.

In one other lesson, we looked at the evolution of video games and computers. We saw how chunky, loud and slow the old computers were and how now we have smooth, quick and quiet PCs. We also now have laptops which are basically portable PCs.

In another lesson, we looked at FitBits. We looked at how they stored data, How they were referred to as computers and If we got the chance to design a FitBit with more space, what would we do? I designed my FitBit going all the way up the arm, from wrist to shoulder. It looked like a black shooting sleeve from Basketball. This FitBit had nothing on it but the words 'FitBit' and a small red button. When you touched this button, a voice assistant would sound and help you with what you want. If you asked it 'Let me play games', a gaming monitor and keyboard will pop out of the sleeve and you will be able to play. If you asked it 'How many steps have I done?', it will pop out with a screen to show your steps and heart rate. It could do whatever you wanted it to do.

Most of our Lessons have been around Data and how we can store, protect, contain, transfer and present data. Data can be anything stored on a computer. A computer can be anything that has a motherboard or any computer parts. For Example, a FitBit, a Microwave, a T.V, are all computers.

I have had a lot of fun and I have done a lot of Learning in Mr Bortoluzzi's class. I hope to have him and Tech Class a lot in the future. I personally love learning about computers and data. I find it very interesting and cool how these things work and how our world is changing at a rapidly fast rate.
