Secure wifi means the use of passwords and secure encryption procedures to send wireless data between a mobile device and the Internet connection point and keep your personal data protected.
When might you use Wi-Fi that is not secured?
A time when you might use non-secured wifi is if you are in a public area that has free Wi-Fi and if you use it, you using wifi which is not secured and the chances of personal information being accessed and taken is increases by a lot.
Why is this an issue?
I believe this is an issue because people aren't educated on cyber safety and it could put their safety in danger because hackers can get your personal information like your address, social security number, drivers license number, financial account number, email address, passport number, taxpayer ID number, credit account number, etc.

You can make sure that your home network is safe and secure by is change the default name of your home Wi-Fi, Make your wireless network password different and strong, enabling network encryption, keep your router's software up to date and make sure that your firewall is good
