Blogging and Social-Media
This is my first blog in Year 7, 2020. I am in the class Tech I. This is NOT my first blog on Blogger, as I worked on this website last year. Blogging is a way to write to others about certain subjects and issues that you have come across. You can write about politics, cookbooks, personal issues, or anything else. In this scenario, I am writing about social-media and the danger that it entrusts on the people (specifically children) that use it. We are questioning whether or not there are any (good) substitutes for all the social-media apps that we know and use today.
In the Entry Event, it says that "medical officers declined to set age and time limits, saying there was not enough evidence to do so." However is also says that "The American Association of Pediatrics gave more specific guidelines in 2016, urging parents to keep infants under 18 months away from screens and to restrict the time young children spend using media." Which of these can we trust? Should we be wary and limit our use of social-media, or should we ignore the risk of danger, and continue to use the internet as if nothing happened? I'm sure there must be be some way to decide.
There are also other issues to do with this subject, such as hacking, knowing your location, and identity theft. These issues can be prevented by censoring or discreetly using personal information.
As we go further into this subject, we will figure out more, and these questions will soon be answered.
