Trash

This term we are reading 'Trash'. This book is about 3 kids, Raphael, Gardo and Rat. They live in a trash dump and go scavenging for valueable scraps to survive. One day Raphael finds a bag with an wallet inside with ID and pictures of children. It also had money in it. Raphael took the money and put the rest in his drawer in his shack. The next day the police come and ask for the bag but the boys lie to the police. The boys get there friend rat to help hide the bag. After this they grab the key from the bag they also found and Rat identified it as a key at central station so they head over there and see whats in the locker. They found a letter sent to a man in prison. When they opened it up it had a bunch of jumbled numbers. A few days later Rat takes the boys to his mission school to use the computer and search up the man who owned the ID, Jose Angelico. After what they found they go back home. The next morning Raphael wakes up and the police take him to a police station and ask him if he found the bag. Of course he says no and gets brutally beaten by the three men in the police station. They haul him over a balcony, only holding him by one ankle, and threaten him to give the bag to them. After he repitively says no, they let him go.I am enjoying this book and I hope the rest of the Purple group enjoy it too.
