the story follows Niya a ten year old uniped wanting to be a samurai . but because of her disability Niya gets rejected by multiple Honorable schools . but once she sends a letter to the unknown cockroach ryu she finally gets accepted . it takes time for her parents to let her go but when she does a journey awaits her. during her fist year at the Ryu niya meets four kids with their own disabilities Kyoko a white haired girl with pink eyes & six fingers on each limb her spirit is the snow monkey, Mikko a a one armed boy his totem is the stripped Gecko , taji a blind boy his totem the golden bat & yoshi a huge boy who doesn't want to fight his totem not found yet ! and of course the Sensei ki yaga they will lose a lot but in the following year it might change
