Jali Boy Discussion (readers circle)

Yesterday in Readers Circle. In this discussion we talked how Jali was feeling and what he did to go to boarding school. We discussed that at the mission camp there were older kids  and they influenced him to do the wrong thing. He started to  become smart and full of heart because he enjoyed learning and was not scared to be aboriginal. He made a friend named Jack he was from Manly Beach. In the book it said 'if you have been watching them you might have been surprised-a small brown Aboriginal boy from Brown hill sitting, laughing and playing with a tall pale boy from Manly beach. He still missed his family but knew they were proud of him.

  1. A good attempt at using quotes to support your thinking. Can you explain why you have included the quote? Try elaborating on the learning from the discussion. I look forward to reading your next blog and hope to see some connections between the self, world or text. What are the themes within the book, will also be a good reflection.
