Little Brother

Little Brother is a book about two boys one named Vithy and another named Mang (translated from Vietnamese to, bring). Vithy being the little brother and Mang being the big brother. Vithy and Mang are in Cambodia during the 1975 Cambodian civil war opposing Khmer Rouge. Both of their parents had been killed in the war. Vithy and Mang had to make it to either the Thailand or Laos borders. Soon after Vithy and Mang get separated and they were alone. Vithy adventures into small remote destroyed cities and meets a supposed king who has a palace located in the alleyways , Vithy eats and sleeps there for a few days. After a few days Vithy set out on another journey to the border this time he finds a man named Youth. Youth had a backyard full of old bikes and he said for the gold ill let you make a bike. Without hesitation Vithy accepted the offer and ran  into the swampy backyard and started to make a bike. Vithy was there for several days ,making this bike, he had to make it before the youth would come and claim it his. After a while Vithy travels and finds a wounded woman that had been shot 400 or 500 metres from the camp at the Thailand border. Vithy finds the woman laying on the floor. She has no confidence that Vithy can do anything and she was convinced she was going to die. Vithy got leaves from trees and wrapped it around the girls arm to stop the blood loss. So after a while an American man comes over to the girl. He says they need to take her to the closest decent hospital. I like how Vithy acted and tried to help and I would try to do the same. After Vithy got accused of the shooting and he starts to run.
