The Melting Pot W4

The Melting Pot

The melting pot is a book about a boy named Edward who is half Chinese and half Australian. His mother is comes from an Australian family but his father comes from a Chinese family. Edward struggles to fit in at school because all of the boys call him Australian and not Chinese, but on the other hand, his Australian cousin Elizabeth tells him that he is not Australian but Chinese. Edward is confused, he doesn't know where he fits in. Is he Australian? Or is he Chinese?

What I like about this book is that it is different to the way that I live today. The way that the Chinese people had to live is very informing and Interesting. But something that I didn't like about this book was that every page was just repeating what happened the day before.

I can not connect to this book muck because I am not Chinese. But even though I am not Chinese and I don't Connect to this book, it is very interesting and fun to read!

I predict that the rest of the book will be about how Edward tries fit in and find out if he is Chinese or Australian. I think this because in the book two questions keep popping up. these questions are:
- Where do I fit in?
- Am I Australian or am I Chinese?
