The Garden Of Empress Cassia
Novel Response
'Enchanting...a magical read' Adeline Yen Mah
The book 'The Garden of Empress Cassia by Gabrielle Wang' is a very intresting and imaginative tale that hooked me in on the very first page.
I have had so many questions, likes and not even one dislike. Even on page one I had questions, like 'what is her parents job?' And 'Why is there always bad smells?' I wondered 'is miss O'dell Irish?' 'Why can only Mimi use the pastels?' And 'why were they sucked into the picture?'
Throughout the book mimi has had some bad days and has been hurt, and some days she has an amzing, fun an exciting day, like when she got the pastels from her favorite teacher 'Miss O'dell'.

During this book I have heard of many new words like:
-chiaroscuro: the treatment of light and shade in a drawing.
-kiln: a frown
-oblong: a rectangular object or surface
good job
