Mimi gets some pastels from her art teacher, Mrs O'Dell. The pastels could hold a secret power. She begins to draw the "Garden of Empress Cassia". She gains popularity by drawing incredible scenery on the footpath of her mother's shop. People somehow get sucked into the drawings, to go to a "place between Heaven and Earth". They arrive at the Garden of Empress Cassia. Once they are out they are gifted with peace and calm.

At Chinese New Year, Mimi celebrates with Josh Rudd, and Old Ma "awakens the dragon".
