Who am I wk 5
So far in Who am I, Mary has been sent to a whitre home [the Burkes] She lives in st Ives and goes to a public school. Her siblings Sam and Sophie didn't really like her at the begging Sophie didn't let her touch her things and Sophie never wanted to talk to her. Sam bullies Mary at school and wants nothing to do with her. Now Sophie talks to her and likes her a little more.
I like how the autor used the vocabulary that a ten year old would use. It wasnt suffisticated and it made sense that a ten yea old would write this.
When Mary was setteling in to school she a met a girl named Toni. Toni is italian when the Burkes go to church every sunday Toni is there and thet sit together and are best friends.
Mary sends a letter to her 'Mum' Marton roes she says how are you going and how are the little kids she writes at tje end of the letter wht did you send me here and were are my real parents... She later responds and says everything is good and I sent you here because you wernt as young anymore i didnt want to send you away.
Mary is walking home from school and meets another aboriginal lady and says hello and her name is dot Mary reconies that dots sibilingswere at the home. When Mary goes home she tells MA burke that she meet another aboriginal, MA and Pa burke forbib her from going to her becaue she is dirty.
Mary didn't understand and still went to see her every afternoon when walking home fro school.
Mary has an assiment for school and it is to do a family tree she is vet confeuesed because she doesnt really know her real family ...she is walking home and goes to dot for help and she does help her with her work and her figuring out her family. The next day she goes to school and goes to her teacher the teacher like the set up but sid get rid of her other family members. Mary didnt understand because it is the only family she knows.
