Sydney Harbour Bridge
What has happened so far?
This term we have been reading a book called Sydney Harbour Bridge by Vashti Farrer. So far this book has been set in the great depression an economical mess and what has happened is that they have started to make the Sydney Harbour Bridge and to do that they had to knock a heap of houses down. There were two kids named Alice and Billy and there house was knocked down but there dad got repayed with a job to help build the Sydney Harbour Bridge. A lot of people who's houses were knocked down were not repayed with a job causing a huge amount of poverty in the streets. Now they have started to make shelters for the homeless, that is why their dad is really grateful he got a job so his family don't have to be homeless. As we are reading the book it is informing us with facts and features of the bridge e.g. how it has fourteen thousand tons of metal. Also some of the things that are building it have some facts like how the two giant electric creeper cranes cost thirty thousand pounds. I predict the next thing that will happen is that there will be a huge government owned homeless shelter to help the homeless.
